AdBlue In your Fuel

Throughout Surrey we are finding a lot more occurrences of AdBlue contamination whereby someone has poured AdBlue directly into their diesel tank. Now, what's the trouble with putting AdBlue in your diesel car? Since the product is mainly ionised water, it is almost the same as pouring water into your tank. Diesel and water really do not mix whatsoever and trying to run a diesel car on water will not work. Additionally, the urea is extremely corrosive to your fuel system pipes and seals and is at risk of crystalising, clogging injectors and filters.

If perhaps you poured AdBlue into your fuel tank get it drained as soon as possible. And most definitely be careful not to crank the engine - not even to maneuver it to a parking spot. Assuming you have started the car you may in all probability have to have the complete fuel system purged and filters changed.

Water contaminated fuel
